It seems that the dust has settled, regarding Drake‘s “Draft Day.”

The song incorporated an amazing loop from the bridge of Lauryn Hill‘s “Doo Wop (That Thing),” and also left the world with a few quotables. For example, “Sometimes I laugh with God about how you can’t stop me/ I’m his darkest angel probably but he still got me,” or “You know they love to pop all that shit when I’m not around/ But when I’m here, not a sound, that’ll make me snap, jot it down/ Go in the booth and lay a body down.”

But, around this time last year, an artist by the name of J. Cole released another Lauryn-laced track by the name of “Cole Summer.” This track incorporated Ms. Hill’s “Nothing Even Matters.” Also bar heavy, Cole rapped, “This sample was yellin’ ‘loop me!’/ Ms. Hill please don’t sue me.” Some of it’s memorable quotes include, “Throwing thousands in the strip club with Drizzy/ Difference is I’m throwing four, he’s throwing fifty,” and, “Just tellin’ my story so dissin’ ain’t my intention now/ Drop a couple hits and all the dumbies pay attention now.”
