The NBA officially announced today that Kevin Durant, the 2013-2014 NBA leading scorer, has won the 2013-2014 NBA MVP award for the first time in his career. Durant finished second in voting to Lebron James for the past two seasons, but finally, the Thunder’s superstar took home the highest individual award in the league.

After he was announced, Durant gave a roughly 10-minute speech that will undoubtedly make you become happy for him, whether you’re rooting for the Thunder this NBA playoffs or not.
