After receiving our first look at Ben Affleck donning his short-eared Batman costume and the new Batmobile Warner Bros. has officially revealed the title and logo for the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film. The Zack Snyder directed film will be called Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and will be the sequel to his 2013 Man of Steel film. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman, and Ben Affleck will give us his first performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Gal Gadot (Knight and Day, Fast & Furious 6) and Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, 30 Minutes or Less) will join the cast as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor respectively. Jeremy Irons who was the voice of Scar in Disney’s The Lion King also joins the star-studded cast as Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth, with Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, and Diana Lane reprising their Man of Steel roles.
The film was shot in Africa, the South Pacific and Yorkville, Illinois with principal taking place today in Detroit. While the film’s plot pieces are yet to be revealed, the title pretty much says it all — Superman and Batman will have an epic brawl and the film will be the foundation for the upcoming Justice League film which is still in pre-production.
