Houston…we have a…never mind.

Knicks fans would like to believe Carmelo Anthony has no eventual destination. Not like, heaven or hell or anything, but to have a destination, one would have to travel, and if your team is the New York Knickerbockers, you can’t afford for Carmelo Anthony to get on a bus, or a plane, and go anywhere. For you, it is imperative that he dresses in orange and blue at least 82 times next season.

However, the reality is, despite several meetings with NBA coaching legend Phil Jackson–who was recently brought on to be the Knicks’ president–no one knows for sure which team Melo will play for next season. There have been rumors of everywhere from the Lakers and the Bulls, to the Houston Rockets–to form some complicated shoot-first trio with Dwight Howard and James Harden–and of course, his current team, the Knicks.

It appears the Houston Rockets would like to strike first, and according to Steven Kyler of Basketball Insiders, it appears they’re ready to re-offer the Knicks the combination of former Knick guard Jeremy Lin, underrated big man Omer Asik and a first round pick (the Knicks traded all theirs away trying to land Lebron James in 2010) for Carmelo Anthony, who just missed the playoffs for the first time in his 11-year career.
