We attended a screening of the new film “Edge of Tomorrow” based on the novel “All You Need is Kill” directed by Doug Limen and starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt which will be released June 6 in theaters.
In the film we are introduced to a world where aliens have invaded and are at war with the earth. The story follows Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) as he is thrown on to the front line of battle with no military training and is forced to fight. He dies not even 10 minutes into battle, but then suddenly wakes up the day before anything has happened. He realizes that he is forced to repeat time on and endless loop every time he dies. He later meets war hero Rita Vrataski who seems to understand his situation somehow. With the help of Vrataski, Cage learns to memorize the enemies actions every time he engages in battle with them bringing him closer and closer to victory.
We found this film very exhilarating. “Edge of Tomorrow” has the right amount of action, humor, and romance. The chemistry between Cruise and Blunt and the portrayal of their characters also add to what’s commendable about film. You should definitely watch “Edge Of Tomorrow” this weekend.
