Shay Drizzy & DC of California’s Power 106 caught up with Kendrick Lamar last week to clear up some rumors.
Tis the seasons of regional Summer Jams. Following Hot 97’s layered show, California’s KMEL 106 kicked off their annual Summer Jam and of course being on the West Coast, Kendrick Lamar was a special guest to have on that bill. Two of the stations star host caught up with the rapper backstage to check up on a few things.
To kick things off, they ask Kendrick about his reportedly half a million dollar home he purchased earlier this month. Well, turns out, the house isn’t for him.”The information that came out was twisted a little bit,” he said. “I purchase spots but its not necessarily for me.”KDot revealed that he does indeed like the purchase real estate but its more of a business move than anything.
The Top Dawg front runner also shed some light, or more specifically – dimmed the light on what was rumored to be his sophomore album. There was alleged news of his album release date, its progress and name which actually all don’t exist.
He also talks about Maya Angelou’s influence on him and music itself and TDE’s difference from other labels.
Though things seem to still be up in the air about his sophomore album, we hope to hear some music from Kendrick very soon! Stay tuned for any updates.
