Radio wars just took a turn for the extreme.

There’s no overstating Angie Martinez‘s contribution to New York radio and the national hip-hop scene as a whole. She has been, and remains one of the most recognizable, trusted, noteworthy and reliable voices, sources and opinion-givers in radio, and has become the face of the iconic Hot 97 brand alongside Funkmaster Flex, Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg.

Earlier today, she resigned from her position at Hot 97–sigh, that 4 p.m. slot will never be the same–and automatically rumors began to circle that she would be headed to work for Hot 97’s rival–and we mean rival–radio jocks over at Power 105.1.

Bossip–and yes, we know Bossip can be a not-so-worthy source–is reporting that they can exclusively confirm as per their sources that Angie Martinez is in fact headed to work for Power 105.1, but as opposed to their far fetched Jay Z/adultery claims, there’s evidence–albeit social media evidence–that this is in fact the case.

Shortly before the sudden announcement, which Angie Martinez made on her Instagram account, via Twitter:

GeeSpin, the Asst. Program Director at Power 105.1, tweeted this to his Twitter account, and then immediately proceeded to RT Angie’s announcement.

Not to be outdone, the official Power 105.1 account retweeted Angie’s announcement with a smiley-face emoji attached:

You can understand why one would be inclined to believe Bossip’s confirmation. You know what they say. Two things make a coincidence, three make a conspiracy.

UPDATE: It’s official, Angie Martinez has joined Power 105.1, and will appear on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, June 24.
