Where’s Batman when you need him?
With the Batman v. Superman movie on the horizon, DC Comics looks to turn back the clock a bit and give a retrospective glimpse into the city that fostered the caped crusader. Fox’s upcoming series Gotham will follow the early career of the Commissioner James Gordon of the Batman canon as a rookie detective. While the Dark Knight himself won’t be pummeling goons in this series, as it takes place long before he donned the “Bat Suit”, it will provide several origin stories for a young Bruce Wayne along with several of his destined nemesis. Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler, Two-Face, The Joker, and many more have already been confirmed to be featured, with many to serve as series regulars.
Today we get our first look of three villains who will be making Detective Gordon — who will be played by Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland) — earn his paycheck. The teaser trailer features Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, all of whom will be featured in the show’s inaugural 16-episode season.
