With the one year anniversary of Mac Miller’s sophomore album Watching Movies With The Sound Off upon us, the Pittsburgh repper has released two never before heard tracks originally intended for the album.

First is the orignal version of the albums opening cut (and many fans favorite track) “Star Room” produced and slightly featuring Earl Sweatshirt.  You can hear the track give hints of what would eventually become the final product, but in it’s own right  it’s definitely an interesting take.

Next up is the Pete Rock produced  “Melt” ft Schoolboy Q.  The very spacey but late night diner feel of the beat sets a soundscape for Mac Meezy to spit what sound like somewhat unrefined bars attempting to keep pace with the instrumental, that combined with one of the more laidback Q flows you’ve yet heard makes for an overall really enjoyable track.

With the recent release of the very well received Faces mixtape, these songs and some of his recent Larry Fisherman production work Mac is really hitting a stride in what seems to be the prime of his career creatively, will he be able to keep the momentum going career success wise, in todays every changing digital climate, my money’s on Mac.
