As per Delaware Online and USA Today Sixers reporter, Jason Wolf, it was a hoax.

Wolf tweeted last night: Team will NOT use this logo. Was something they explored. MT @RealGM: #76ers‘ new Ben Franklin logo.

Although a successful newspaper editor and printer in Philadelphia with the Pennsylvania Chronicle, Franklin will NOT be printed in Sixers gear at the Wells Fargo Center or on any Sixers merchandise anytime soon.

Although there will be no founding father featured as the team’s alternate logo, the Sixers do have a third pick at this Thursday’s NBA draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The team also hold the 10th, 32nd, 39th, 47th and 54th picks in this years draft, as well.
