Jason Kidd tried to make a power play requesting to oversee basketball operations in addition to his head coaching job with the Brooklyn Nets. The team declined and the relationship turned sour instantly. They allowed him to meet with the Milwaukee Bucks and things progressed pretty quickly.
Today it was announced that the Bucks and Nets reached an agreement for Kidd to become the new head coach in Milwaukee.

Kidd’s close relationship with Bucks new co-owner Marc Lasry allowed the move to happen. What’s sad about the situation is they all blindsided Bucks coach Larry Drew who had no idea Kidd was even interviewing for his job.

The details of his new contract have not yet been released but the numbers should be close to that of Derek Fisher and Steve Kerr who received five-year, $25 million contracts with the Knicks and Warriors respectively. It’s been reported that Kidd’s four-year, $10.5 million contract was one of his issues.
As for Kidd’s replacement, Lionel Hollins is said to be the leading candidate.
