Darn, Kendrick.
Top Dawg Entertainment runs a pretty tight ship, and that should come as a surprise to no one. The executive members of the label have known each other and been together in a family setting for several years, and loose ends rarely go untied.
However, Woolfsongs Limited, on behalf of The Alan Parsons Project, creators of the song “Old And Wise”, are claiming their work was improperly used by the Compton emcee. “Keisha’s Song”, the tale of several troubled women leading dangerous street lives that lives as a standout record on Kendrick’s 2011 Section.80 album, certainly does contain a sample of “Old & Wise” and the song is produced by TDE’s in-house producer Tae Beast.
According to The Hollywod Reporter, TDE has already attempted to settle the matter, but those attempts proved to be futile.
