TDE”s songstress, SZA, has been having a great year and progressed in more ways than one. Her Z EP has been on rotation since it dropped, her ambient mix of trap and r&b is refreshing and unique. Today, she takes another big step, with the release of her duet with Jill Scott. While Scott is soul/r&b royalty, she still adapted to SZA’s eclectic style to make “Divinity” extra special.
It is a long track, but one that goes through a number of movements. If you are expecting a standard harmonizing song, you should look elsewhere. These two sing over one another a various parts, adding their own signature flair to the moment. SZA and Jill Scott did not give fans a stereotypical record, choosing to challenge themselves and ears listening. Check it out below.
