A short while ago, reports began coming in from Ukraine that a Malaysia Airlines flight had crashed en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Via a report from CNN, the plane began coming apart “at altitude” after it lost contact with Malaysia Airlines, which confirmed that they couldn’t communicate with Flight 17. The airline company also reported via Twitter that to their knowledge, the last known location of the plane was over Ukranian airspace.

It was a Malaysia Airlines plane that infamously mysteriously “disappeared” on March 8th of this year.

However, via a report from the Facebook account of Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, terrorists had shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over Ukraine, prompting Ukranian President Petro Poroshenko to post this brief statement to his website:

We do not exclude that the plane was shot down and confirm that the Ukraine Armed Forces did not fire at any targets in the sky.

Bystanders and witnesses of falling debris and any action that took place following the crash are consistently sending in their accounts of what’s going on in Ukraine as we speak, via pictures taken with their phones. Below are two pictures of debris from the plane after the crash, which we found on CNN’s Twitter page.

CNN reports that 280 passengers were killed in the crash along with 15 crew members.
