If the Clipse rocked Pink Panther leather jackets instead of Bape on a Dipset-I-can’t-believe-they’re-wearing-that tip, they may have made music that sounded more like Wara from the NBHD’s latest single. The Atlanta artist’s self produced cut off his upcoming album, Kidnapped, features Fool’s Gold GrandeMarshall, who I haven’t heard in a while. But they both deliver that uncooked realness about rising in ranks on the streets and the balance of hearing God’s disciplinary voice while living a lavish lifestyle.

If you felt a little more gangster than when you usually listen to Jazz, Wara succeeded in creating his “hardcore jazzy feel,” especially with that live trumpet and keyboard/synth player to scuff up the ending. Kidnapped, a concept album based around the life of a young hustler nicknamed “Piano Lessons,” will be released via iTunes on August 12th. But in his own words, Wara explains that “Raw” is “the part of the story where the character gets extremely cocky from making money.” We’ll have to wait and see if Piano Lessons’ swag is really his hamartia.
