Ex-NBA star Shaquille O’Neal made headlines in May when he posted a widely mocked ‘selfie’ on Instagram of a Michigan man next to a photo of himself.

According to the Daily News, Shaq later apologized, both publicly and privately and said the two were now friends.

Unfortunately, the feeling wasn’t mutual.

“Made a new friend today when I called and apologized to Jahmel Binion,” Shaq wrote on Twitter at the time. “Great dude. #alwayslearning #MYBADCUZ”

Jahmel Binion— who has a rare genetic disorder is suing the former NBA star, along with two other celebrities who mocked him – Utah Jazz rookie Trey Burke and rapper Waka Flocka – for more than $25,000 in damages, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Binion’s lawsuit claims “offensive communications” were sent to more than 8.4 million people worldwide and their actions were an invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation and general negligence, the Daily News reported.

According to the Free Press, the suit was filed in Macomb County (Michigan) Circuit Court on Wednesday.

Binion suffers from ectodermal dysplasia—a disease that affects his teeth and hair.
