Day 1 of OVO Fest is in the books

The talk of the town up at Drake and October’s Very Own’s 5th Annual OVO Festival isn’t Drake’s upcoming performance tomorrow night, but rather, how he’s going to top last year, when he brought out everyone from Ma$e to Kanye West.  It’s safe to say they’re off to a good start in 2014, as Day 1 of the festival featured an opening performance from YG, and a scintillating headlining performance from Outkast, with a little assistance from Bun B, who was brought out to perform Outkast & UGK‘s classic collaboration, “International Player’s Anthem” towards the end of the show.

Outkast looked a bit uneasy at times, but certainly settled in by the time they decided to “do a little storytelling” while they performed “Da Art Of Storytellin’ Pt. 1”, and Big Boi‘s energy seemed to, ironically enough, grow with the length of the show, especially after he performed “Kryptonite”, which may have garnered the biggest crowd reaction of the night.  Andre 3000 was his usual quirky self, sporting an all-black body suit with the words “ok, hand over the cure and stop playing” inscribed on it, and having a line-up of 20-something females twerk on stage during the outro to “Hey Ya”.  Check out some photos and footage below.
