Happy birthday, Kelis!
In honor of Kelis’ birthday today, for this edition of Throwback Thursday, Her Source looks back on Kelis’ single, “Bossy,” featuring Too $hort.
“Bossy” premiered on her fourth album, Kelis Was Here. The single was produced by Bangladesh and the video was directed by Marc Klasfed. Kelis looked undoubtedly fab and fly, as showcased a new look alongside her then-husband, Nas. In the video, she ditches her signature curls and cuts her hair short, and we have to say that we loved it! Actor Lance Gross and model/actress Tae Heckhard also make an appearance.
Now that it’s 2014, Kelis is still doing bossy things! She has a cooking show on The Cooking Channel, she’s currently touring, and to top that off, she released her album Food back in April.
