Em back (again)?

Last year, Eminem lit up the 4th quarter with a surprise announcement during the 2013 MTV VMAs by declaring he’d be releasing his Dr. Dre & Rick Rubin-executive produced sequel to his classic Marshall Mathers LP in November.  The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Em’s first album in 3 years, fared extremely well on the charts, selling just short of 800,000 copies in its first week on the shelves on its way to being certified double platinum.

This year, Em looks to repeat as rap’s Billboard champ with new music, and what appears to be a new album.  In the new trailer for Denzel Washington‘s forthcoming action thriller, The Equalizer, Em’s new song, “Guts Over Fear”, featuring the strong voiced Sia, is teased along with the release date for a Shady XV album: Black Friday (Nov. 28).  This year marks the 15th anniversary of Em’s groundbreaking Slim Shady LP album, so odds are we’re looking at a greatest hits/Shady Records compilation album here as opposed to a brand new Eminem LP almost exactly a year following his latest effort.  But either way, we’ll be seeing/hearing a lot more from Eminem before 2015 arrives.
