On June 1st of this year, 50 Cent re-united with his G-Unit band members (Tony Yayo, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks) on stage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert in one of the biggest reunions rap has seen in the past decade.  Since then, they’ve released song after song, freestyle after freestyle, and remix after remix, reminiscent of 12 years ago when they first hit the mixtape scene and instilled a feeling in the New York rap scene the city hasn’t felt since.  Despite 50 Cent claiming the group’s plans for a full-length album this coming November, they’ve released a six-track EP without warning, appropriately titled The Beauty Of Independence–Yayo, Banks and Buck have been independent for quite some time, and 50 Cent made headlines by leaving Interscope Records for an independent label earlier this year–featuring all original music from the quintet.  You can stream it by clicking here via Spotify, and purchase the short album by clicking here via iTunes.  Nothing’s been the same since Summer Jam, and we mean that in a good way.
