On the Monday following Blue Ivy stealing the show at the VMAs, it was no surprise that everyone was talking and cracking jokes about the little lady, though it seems BET’s “106 & Park” took things a little too far and the producer responsible is paying for it.

During a segment involving a list of the hypothetical thoughts running through Blue’s head during her mom’s “Flawless” performance, guest host Karrueche Tran said,

“I really did wake up like this because my parents never comb my hair.”

The next day after many people were upset over the low blow, the president of BET’s music programming and specials, Stephen Hill took to Twitter to apologize publicly for making a joke mocking a young child’s appearance:

“Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful joke made about a young child. We apologize publically to the child’s parents (and have done so privately) and we have taken punitive actions with those responsible. It was very bad judgment and we will serve you much better in the future.”

This “punitive action” of course refers to the suspension being put on the BET producer who okayed the joke.

Although she has made questionable decisions in the past, Hill also made sure to mention that Karrueche did not write the joke and should not be held responsible.
