The Source Magazine had a coveted seat at the show. DKNY this season is all about creating a melting pot of cultures, creativity, and geometry to create a diverse collection to emulate the harmony of the clash of cultures in New York. The show opened with an unexpected combination of prints and silhouettes that set the tone for the rest of the collection. Many of the looks are a mixture of thick and thin stripes as well as a geometric pattern, but all done within the same color scheme to provide cohesion to the look. The colors used are a dark turquoise, navy blue, and a darker tangerine shade that is almost coral-like, which Karan sticks to making the pieces more wearable.

As the collection came down the runway, the color palette faded to a lighter powder blue, with a darker blood orange shade. We found the collection unexpected and  interesting. Many of the dresses and skirts in this collection are a tea length, which hits at the calf, tones down the look quite a bit to make it more casual. The dresses and skirts are also of the classic shapes, with the skirts being a classic A-line and the dresses in a shift shape but sporting a longer hem. These feminine looks are juxtaposed by strong lazer cut details and very sporty vibes.  The same striped print done in black and white immediately gives the entire look a sporty feel  while mingling with net skirts and sheer tops. She also added some embossed leather pieces to the collection to add a hint of upscale luxury  to the collection.

Some of the shoes worn on the runway were from DKNY + Pony. This spring DKNY + Pony will launch a limited edition unisex sneaker inspired by the New York City Streets, the people of New York and the city that keeps them on their feet.
