Apple is cleaning house a bit

Earlier this year, in May, Apple made a historic purchase, adding the Beats By Dre enterprise to their fold for the grand sum of $3 billion and making Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine Apple executives. One of the perceived upsides to Beats was their newest venture, the Beats Music streaming service, which was conceived in order to compete with Spotify, Pandora, and other streaming services, but that turned out to be the case. With Spotify balling out of control, Apple has decided Beats Music will be no more. While Apple will be re-working their new music streaming service to be something else–probably along the lines of “iStream” or something of the sort, the Beats Music facet of Beats by Dre will be folded up and packed away. We doubt Dre and Jimmy will fret too much, whatever new audio device they come out with when Apple finally rolls out their first product since signing on with the company will be enough to make them forget Beats Music even existed.
