It’s no secret that Drake is a huge battle rap fan. He’s an avid supporter of the annual King of the Dot battle rap tournament–which began in 2008–and acknowledged Loaded Lux on his and Rick Ross‘ remix to Lil’ Reese‘s “Us”, among several other nods to the battle rap culture, which is growing exponentially both financially and in general popularity.

While on the red carpet at the taping of this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, Murda Mook, one of the most popular and critically-acclaimed battle rappers around, spoke of an encounter he and Drake had in a club recently, featuring a particularly interesting exchange between the two.

‘Yo, if I did a battle. It’d probably be the biggest battle in history.’ That was his exact words.

Mook went on to say that just to somewhat prove his seriousness, Drake had someone take the typical “standoff” picture of the two rappers, which is pictured above. Also, according to Mook, Drake might not have just done it “for the gram”. A few days later they spoke again, and Drake seemed steadfast in his intentions.

We’ll see. Who do you think would be the victor?
