This past August, Tony Stewart struck and killed a 20-year old Nascar driver, Kevin Ward Jr., after Ward Jr. left his car in an effort to confront Stewart after a collision between the two knocked Ward Jr. out of contention. The fallout was immediate and profuse, and some sports analysts were accusing Stewart of purposely taking Ward Jr. out.

Naturally, despite Ward putting his own life in danger by venturing out on the track while cars were speeding past him at 200 MPH, there was a set of legal proceedings that were necessary in making sure there was no foul play in the incident. Those proceedings have concluded, and the Ontario County District Attorney announced today that there’s no evidence of a crime, even when videos of the incident were enhanced and analyzed by experts.

Following the incident, Stewart has since returned to the race track.
