Ab-Soul released his latest album, These Days, this past summer and off the strength of his first album since 2012’s Control System, Soul will embark on the These Days tour, and he’s bringing Dreamville/Interscope upstart Bas along with him. Just in case fans need an extra Soul song to hold them over until Soul makes his way to their city, the black-lipped pastor has given 2DopeBoyz the green light to premiere his latest record, “W.W.S.D.”, which appropriately stands for “What Would Soul Do”. It’s a departure from the dark nature of his latest work, and the song itself has a very loose structure. There are bars strung together, but not necessarily in verse form, and Soul spends a large part of “W.W.S.D.” speaking of how inspired he felt by Nico–whose song, “These Days,” is sampled to provide this song’s backdrop–who recorded this song’s original melody at age 16. Check out the record for yourself below.
