The screening was held at Alice Tully Hall on October 4, 2014 in New York City and it was presented by Hugo Boss. In the film Michael K. Williams has a memorable scene with Joaquin Phoenix. He plays Tariq Khalil. He told Examiner.com exclusively:

Tell us what it was like working with Paul Thomas Anderson.

MKW: You know, PTA, as we call him, is a beast, and I mean that in a good way. His approach to filmmaking is like none other than I have ever experienced before. He stretches you. He is not about the clock, he doesn’t watch the clock. He doesn’t care about budgets and things of that nature. He takes that pressure on, and it puts you in this cocoon, and it is about the actors, it is about the scene, it’s about the dialogue. And he incorporates your ideas, not so much for the dialogue, but for the organicness for the particular scene and that is really refreshing.

Speak about what it was like going head to head with Joaquin.

MKW: Dream come true. Definitely a bucket list check off. I have been a huge fan of his for a very long time. After working with him and meeting him, he is everything I could have possibly imagined and more. Kind, generous, down to earth, funny, everything you could want in a man.
