An official statement is released on the death of the Dallas patient

Eric Duncan has passed away, as per this release from Texas Health Presbyterian, which they posted to Facebook.

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 a.m. Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola. He fought courageously in this battle. Our professionals, the doctors and nurses in the unit, as well as the entire Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas community, are also grieving his passing. We have offered the family our support and condolences at this difficult time.

This comes following an NBC story detailing how Duncan’s nephew felt like his uncle’s care was so inadequate, he had to call the Center for Disease Control to give THB hospital proper directive. Josephus Weeks, Duncan’s nephew, added that he hoped no one else was infected because of the carelessness of the hospital. It’s a pretty scary narrative, regardless of the validity of it.
