Kobe Bryant doesn’t care what anyone thinks. He’s made that clear throughout his 18-year career, but he certainly listens. Like that time he changed his profile picture on Twiter to a picture of the numbers “1225”, which was inspired by ESPN ranking the Lakers the 12th best team in the league prior to the 2013-2014 season, and Kobe the 25th best player. We imagine when he gets around to it today, he’ll have to change his profile pic to the numbers “2340”, because those are the Lakers/Kobe’s 2014-2015 pre-season rankings.

Chances are Kobe will not be happy with that number, and honestly, at his height, there’s no one on earth who can honestly name 39 better NBA players than Kobe Bryant, at any position. However, two consecutive injury riddled seasons, and the rise of current stars like Kevin Love, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and more, who were still up-and-coming when Kobe was first sidelined with an injuries two seasons ago, certainly add to the 5-time NBA champ’s fall from grace. One thing’s for sure, if he chooses not to comment during any of the press interviews he’ll have before the season, he’ll have 82–and then some if the Lakers can turn it around–to prove ESPN very wrong.
