A couple weeks ago, Tyga let loose with some tweets expressing his disappointment with the way the roll-out for his new album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, has been handled, adding that he won’t be on his current label for much longer when a fan tweeted him asking if he was still on YMCMB. Still, the Cali native pushed onward, releasing his Kanye West-produced new single, “40 Mill,” a few days later.

Today, in an exclusive interview with Vibe, Tyga expanded on his discontent, namely, his “forced together” relationship with Drake.

I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together.

Not liking Drake is one thing, but calling him fake? Well that’s sure to strike a chord with the OVO general should news of this interview reach him. While unrest in what seems like a happy camp certainly raises red flags, this should come as a surprise to no one. Tyga is a prominent mainstream artist but has not been featured on any of Drake’s albums–he ended up on the final version of “The Motto” but was not initially on the record. In addition, Drake hasn’t contributed to any of Tyga’s LPs–“Still Got It” appeared on Tyga’s Careless World album and was billed as “Tyga f/ Drake” but that song was an unreleased Drake demo that ended up becoming Tyga’s song–the way he’s worked on Nicki and Lil’ Wayne albums.

Tyga’s new album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, currently has a release date of November 18th, and Drake’s Views From The 6 is expected in Spring 2015.
