Fresh off helping fellow DIEMON rep Bugus on his new single, Russ returns with another self-produced gem entitled “The King”. As the title suggests, “The King” finds the artist staking his claim on the crown, and all the privileges it imparts. Though he urges his listeners to “bow down” on the hook, they may be too busy nodding their heads in time with his distorted boom-bap beat to show the proper respect.

More often than not, great art is the result of struggle. Whether it be economically, socially, or personally, trials and tribulations are inherently relatable. This is also true on Russ’ other recent release “Kiki,” where the emcee tackles a well-worn subject (break-ups), but does so with such honesty that it far surpasses your average heartbreak single (we missed this when it first dropped, but it’s definitely something to rock to).

Neither promo cut is attached to anything larger, but we’ll keep you posted on Russ’ plans as further details emerge.
