The Future is now
Future released his sophomore album, Honest, earlier this year, which featured bangers like “Move That Dope,” “Covered N Money,” and “I Won”. It was a triumphant return to the game for Future, who hadn’t released an album since 2012’s Pluto, and hadn’t quite convinced everyone that he was ready to blast-off into his solo career. Since then he’s had a child, been brought on stage by Outkast, and recorded a ton of material with Metro Boomin’, 808 Mafia and more, the product of which we finally get to hear in its entirety. Enter Monster, Future‘s second long-player of the year, and a much more raw and grimy project than Honest. With the title track and it’s accompanying video leading the way–one of the lines on that record is “And it don’t f**k with my conscience I’ll serve my aunty that raw,” in case anyone wasn’t sure what we meant by “much more raw”–Future delivers his latest.
