A Florida man got more than he bargained for when he purchased a foreclosed home for $96,000 at an auction on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Cape Coral resident William Wilson went to check out his newly made purchase, only to find a dead body on the floor of the master bedroom.
Cape Coral police immediately cordoned off the area and began an investigation into the death.
Neighbors say that two sisters had previously lived in the home, but no one had seen them for a while. Police noted the last piece of mail was from November 2011, and the unpaid property taxes went back three years. Wilson gave a brief statement, mentioning that the house was a disaster inside and it looked like someone was planning to move.
