She is not that somebody
There are so many unfavorable things about the Lifetime Aaliyah biopic, which is airing tonight, it’ll be a miracle it manages to garner any positive reviews. Outside of the fact that Lifetime wasn’t able to acquire licenses to include any of Aaliyah’s original music, Missy Elliott and Timbaland abstaining from any involvement, and judging by the above video, a lackluster performance from Alexandra Shipp. Lifetime released an exclusive clip of Shipp performing as Aaliyah from tonight’s biopic, and it doesn’t do Aaliyah justice at all. Still, to be fair, a 2-minute clip can’t possibly do an entire movie justice, but it doesn’t indicate that we’re in for greatness tonight at all.
