Just about a month ago, King Fantastic made it’s glorious and raucous return with The Great Man Theory album. Today, we are proud to premiere the video for one of the tracks off that project.

You can interpret the plot however you’d like, whether it’s a particular rapper or a whole brand of rappers (spoiler alert: it’s a parody of Lil Wayne as portrayed by Vine star Jerry Purpdrank), but you can’t confuse the message that Killer Reese One is explaining: don’t get sucked into what the media portrays as cool. While you may think you’re getting ahead in life with some shiny chains and stacks of cash, you may actually be making a fool of yourself. To underline that point even more, Killer Reese One and Troublemaker thread out some homeless guys with a Hypebeast’s shopping spree of Supreme and champagne as they patronize the stereotypical rapper. It all ends with a classic Karate Kid-esque suprise ending and an outro that reminds me of Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song.

DJ and producer Troublemaker had this to say on the video:

We’re not saying what everyone isn’t already thinking, we’re just the ones saying it.
