On Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes managed to defeat the rival Michigan Wolverines despite losing their quarterback for the rest of the season. However, off the field, a much larger and more severe tragedy was taking place, and it has culminated in the worst possible way. A Buckeyes defensive player, Kosta Karageorge, had gone missing, and after four days without word of his whereabouts, Karageorge’s body was recovered in a trash bin near his apartment. Cause of death: self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As of late, Karageorge had been dealing with concussions. According to Karageorge’s family, that may have led to his disappearance, especially considering he texted his mother that he was an “embarrassment” shortly before he went missing. Ohio State has released a statement in light of the terrible news.
