Coming into the 2014-2015 NBA regular season, a lot of basketball experts have counted out the Los Angeles Lakers. One of the reasons why is because of the prediction of the Black Mamba not being able to performed the way he did throughout his illustrious NBA career. Well even though, experts are correct about the Lakers stinking up the arenas with poor play, they cannot find proof to say the same thing about Kobe Bryant. Bryant is off to a superb start, participating in all of the Lakers game while leading the NBA in scoring with 26.6 PPG. As phenomenal of a scorer he is, he has quietly show critics he can dish and share the rock with his teammates. Proof of that is his performance last night as he was able to show fans vintage Kobe during the Lakers 129-122 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Kobe recorded his first triple double of season, finishing with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. History was made when Kobe became the 1st player in NBA history to record 30,000 points and 6, 000 assists in his legendary 18 year career.

I know everyone is saying 6,000 assists? No way, Kobe doesn’t drop dimes, his passing game is comparative to mythical NBA 2k “X” button, jammed and never working properly. But believe or not, the Black Mamba shows that he can be trusted to be a teacher to these young inexperienced Lakers, by mixing his scoring ways with his play making, teammate involving abilities. While the Lakers improves to 4-13, Kobe has been reminding haters and critics that he still got it. Imagine if rookie phenom Julius Randle was still healthy, the Lakers could’ve been making a much bigger noise. In fact, they possibly would’ve been a couple of games away from .500. But for now, Hollywood’s team is just not making the cut as NBA’s most exciting team. At least Kobe is slowly going out with tenasity and passion, just how he came into the NBA as a high school prodigy, 18 years ago. From the great words of Jiggaman himself Jay-Z said on his classic song “What More Can I Say”, “and he’s back for more, Los Angeles’s ambassador, Prime Minister, back to finish his business up. Haters, critics, NBA teams, Jack Nicholson….wake up and realize greatness before it’s gone.
