Gwen’s been busy lately what with being a coach on season seven of “The Voice,” but she’s still making time to put out new music. Produced by Pharrell and released through Mad Love and Interscope Records, “Spark the Fire” is now available for purchase through iTunes and music video is also available on Youtube and Vevo. This song marks the first time Pharrell and Gwen have collaborated since the popular track “Hollaback girl,” which was the first digital download that sold over a million copies in the U.S. alone. “Spark the Fire” is only a preview of her upcoming album set to drop in 2015. Gwen was more than excited to be working with Pharrel again, “I am so excited to have a new song out with Pharrell…he is magic and we have this crazy unexpected musical connection. This song is a perfect expression of this new chapter in my life.” Even Pharrell said, “Working with Gwen is always a fun, inspiring experience…she’s the Queen of Awesome for a reason!” Check out the music video below, directed by Sophie Muller, which is reminiscent of Gwen’s Harajuku Lovers days.
