Some areas are notorious for their staggering crime rates; so much so that entire neighborhoods seem to be divided between the criminals and the tax-paying residents. Such is the reputation of southeast Washington, D.C. but on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, one crime victim scored one for the good guy.
An 18-year old, Channel Johnson, attempted to rob a 22-year old unidentified man, who managed to wrestle the gun away from Johnson. In the tussle, Johnson got shot and died from his injuries.
Authorities spoke with Johnson’s mother who was surprised to hear the news as she was told that her son was visiting a friend who only lives a mile away from her and his seven siblings. The 22-year old shooter has since moved from his home which was near the location of the incident.
