Last week, the Brooklyn Nets announced that they’ll be accepting trade offers for their three best players–Joe Johnson, Deron Williams and Brook Lopez–despite being in playoff contention early in the season. It appears the Sacramento Kings may be the first to bite.

Sources have confirmed that the Kings and the Nets are discussing a potential deal that would send Darren Collison, Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson to Brooklyn in exchange for Deron Williams. ESPN is reporting that no deal is “imminent,” but the Kings have been looking for a point guard for some time now (they pursued former Celtic PG Rajon Rondo, who ultimately chose Dallas.)
