Not all the fallout from the Sony leaks has been bad. Obviously, the cancellation of The Interview‘s Christmas release, Obama’s disappointed reaction to Sony’s hasty move and their lawyer’s subsequent admission to Meet The Press that the film will still be released has cast a pretty unfortunate black cloud over the information that the self-proclaimed “Guardians of Peace” have leaked to the internet, but some positive tidbits have come of their infiltration of Sony’s e-mail database. A Destiny’s Child biopic and a potential Kanye West collaboration for 2015, not to mention plans for new Batman and Spiderman movies. Probably the most interesting bit of “news” that’s come from it is Sony studio executive Amy Pascal‘s suggestion of who should succeed Daniel Craig as James Bond, courtesy of a Daily Beast report. Craig is contracted to star in the newest Bond movie, Spectre, which is slated to be out late next year, and one more Bond film after that.

Idris should be the next bond.

It’s a pretty simple suggestion, but a bold one. The first James Bond feature film was released in 1962, and if Idris Elba is in fact chosen to be Craig’s successor-the 8th James Bond–he will be the first African-American to play the wickedly clever and daring secret service agent on the big screen. Elba has caught wind of the rumors before, and he is open to the opportunity.
