Michael Jackson’s career spanned four decades and left behind such a legacy that BMI President and CEO Mike O’Neill said, ““Since 1976, we’ve had the privilege of licensing his works and we’re honored to continue this relationship with his estate.” Jackson accumulated 13 Grammy Awards, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, received 26 AMAs and 21 BMI Pop awards.

Some would even say that Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer of all time, but at the very least he was and will always be the King of Pop. Along with the Jackson estate renewing their agreements, artists such as as P!nk, Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift have also renewed their partnership with the company. BMI has been providing services for people in the entertainment industry for over 75 years and represents the public performance rights in more than 8.5 million works created by more than 650,000 artists.
