It’s a saying, “The richer gets richer while the poorer gets poorer”. Well, in football and sports talk, the”stronger gets stronger” and if you need any example of this, just look at a defensive end who wears #99 for the Houston Texans. JJ Watt has redefined the position one week at a time. The Wisconsin native has been putting up ridiculous numbers for his squad as yesterday he made history. Watt’s three sack performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars put him in the record books as he became the first NFL player to record 20 sack seasons, finishing this year with 20.5 sacks. Even though the Texans failed to qualify for the playoffs, Houston finished the season with a 9-7 record. They definitely have JJ to thank as he was able to accounted for 5 touchdowns, becoming the first defensive to record a pick-six, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and three touchdown catches in the same season. Talk about multi talented and dominant at the same time, Watt’s outstanding season has rosed him to the top of the foot chain amongst the NFL elite’s for NFL MVP.

In addition, Watt’s dominant play has been helping him pick up new fans. Houston’s OG Bun B took to twitter to congratulate and praise JJ’s terrific play on the field.

As the season has ended and the playoffs are right around the corner, don’t be surprised history will be made if JJ walks away into immortality as he become the rare face from the defensive side to win the NFL MVP honor. Despite failing to lead his team into the playoffs, JJ made all the plays needed to help pushed his team to a playoff birth. From lining up and scoring touchdowns over cornerbacks to being a sack machine, it is safe to say Watt has the MVP award written all over it. But fans please be aware of the favorites like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or DeMarco Murray who can run away with the award due to the fact that their squads are playoff bound teams who are in serious contention of playing for a spot in the Super Bowl in Arizona. Only time will tell when the writers at the Associated Press meet up to hand out and select honorees for these prestigious awards.
