2015 is off to a great start as celebs filled Hollywood’s popular venue, The Supperclub, to party alongside DJ and super producer, DJ Mustard. Chris Brown hit the popular spot and enjoyed performances by Def Jam artist YG, crooner TY Dolla $ign, and G.O.O.D. Music’s Teyana Taylor. NFL star Desean Jackson was on hand top pop bottles and ring in the New Year. Internet sensation OG Pollard the dancing grandfather invading local Hip Hop functions, stole the show as he partied the night away.

On December 31,  Pitbull hosted his Fox special New Year’s Eve Revolutionat the recently unveiled Thompson Miami Beach hotel. Party correspondents included La La Anthony and Rocsi Diaz. Staged throughout various indoor and outdoor venues at the upscale oceanfront Thompson Miami Beach, including its majestic Courtyard, sparkling pools and pool bungalows, and the 1930s House and Crown Room cocktail lounges, the evening’s broadcast featured performances by Becky G., Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony, The Band Perry, and magicians The Misdirectors. Ne-Yo surprised the more than 700 on-site fans when he joined Pitbull on stage for a live performance of their new hit, “Time of Our Lives.” Fox stars, including Benjamin McKenzie, Ed Weeks, Lamorne Morris and “Empire’s” Taraji P. Henson and Director Lee Daniels were also spotted in the party’s exclusive VIP section.

Love was in the air at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas as newly engaged Actress Sofía Vergara, fiancé Joe Manganiello, Arnold Schwarzenegger, girlfriend Heather Milligan, Patrick Schwarzenegger and new romance Miley Cyrus celebrated New Year’s Eve together. The group started with dinner at Strip House before heading down to a private pre-show meet and greet with songstress Britney Spears. Following the meet and greet the couples, joined by friends, took front row seats at the “Britney: Piece of Me” show.

Fresh off his Christmas Day release of “The Young OG Project,” Fabolous hosted his OG’s 11 New Year’s Eve party presented by Hennessy V.S at IVY Nightclub in Miami. The theme was an ode to Ocean’s 11 as the rapper brought 11 models and an entourage of friends to the celebration. Songs from his latest album were played  and later Fabolous grabbed the mic to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Also in attendance were Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Mack Maine, Victor Cruz and  DJ Stevie J.  In Detroit the Detroit Pistons 2004 NBA World Champions brought in 2015 with HENNESSY X.O. Rasheed Wallace, Rip “THE MASKED MAN” Hamilton, the general of the “NO FLY ZONE” Ben Wallace, Chauncey “BIG SHOT” Billups, and Tayshaun “THE BLOCK” Prince reunited at Coach Insignia in Downtown Detroit to celebrate the new year with over 400 elite entertainers, celebrities, athletes, business professionals and taste-makers. The event was complete with four bars, bottle service, strolling buffet and music by DJ Steady Rock.

A tux-clad Drake held court at Marquee Nightclub inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, counting down the last moments of 2014 and personally handing out shots to fans at the front of the stage before wowing the sold-out crowd with a medley of nearly a dozen songs including Started from the Bottom, We Made It and Trophies.  Taking to the mic he told the packed club “If you love somebody you’ve got to show them some love right now. This is the time.”  He brought his dad Dennis along with other family and friends up on the stage as he finished his performance from the draw bridge above the crowd.  DJ Politik provided the soundtrack for the evening as club goers, including fashion designer Alexander Wang partied in the tri-level nightclub and outside on the pool deck under the temperature controlled Dayclub Dome. Gearing up for New Year’s Eve, Drake was spotted dining at TAO two nights in a row.  On Tuesday the rapper met up with music producer Irv Gotti and friends at the Asian bistro for TAO-TINI cocktails, hot and sour soup and Mr. Wong shrimp. Later that night he headed to Marquee’s Boom Box Room for the club’s Hip Hop Until The Ball Drops pre-New Year’s Eve party. On December 31 the restaurant opened up the private dining room and served a special menu for Drake so he could fuel up for the big night. Snoop Dogg manned the DJ booth at TAO Nightclub at The Venetian for the last Snoopadelic Cabaret of 2014.  The entire venue was transformed into a 1920s speakeasy and Snoop was presented with a special limited edition Shine Bright six liter bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne that was paraded through the crowd.  Andre Johnson, wide receiver for the Houston Texans was also spotted at TAO. At LAVO inside The Palazzo, DJ Khaled was on hand, toasting the arrival of 2015 with a performance of hits such as All I Do Is Win and current favorite Hold You Down.  He later made his way to TAO where he joined Snoop in the DJ booth.

In other New Year’s news, Paramount announced that Golden Globe nominated film “Selma” from director Ava DuVernay will be shown for free to the town’s citizens at the Selma Walton Theater in the city of Selma, Alabama beginning January 9.  “With deep gratitude to the people of Selma, Alabama, we are proud to share this powerful film depicting the historic events that took place there 50 years ago,” said Oprah Winfrey on behalf of the film’s producers. “I hope generations will watch the film and share their stories of remembrance and history together.”
