The Weeknd is known for his soothing, drug-fueled, eerie R&B anthems, but today he’s made headlines for a markedly different reason. According to TMZ, at 4:20 AM on Saturday morning, there was a brawl involving The Weeknd at the Cromwell Hotel. After police arrived, the brawl continued, and while officers physically stepped in to help quell the fight, one officer managed to pull the “Often” singer into an elevator. Inside the elevator, The Weeknd reportedly punched the cop, and he’s been charged with battery of a protected person.
The Weeknd has since made bail, and can be seen on his Instagram “escaping Vegas,” but we’ll have more details as soon as they’re made available.
