Welcome back, Paulie

Paul George is one of the brightest young talents in the NBA, and was this close to getting the Indiana Pacers to the NBA Finals in the 2013-2014 NBA season. So, it was understandably tragic when the 2013 NBA Most Improved Player suffered two compound fractures in his lower leg during a Team USA scrimmage in a freak incident.

Since then, his importance on the Pacers has only been highlighted by his absence. The Pacers finished with a 56-26 record last year, good for #1 in the Eastern Conference. This year, though the Pacers are currently only 1 game out of the 8th playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, they are a significantly worse team, and are currently only 15-25.

That being said, look no further than the above clip for motivation–if you’re a Pacers fan–or just a clear sign that Paul George is significantly improving on his road to recovery. Reports surfaced late last year that George had begun a mild jump shot routine, and he’s apparently graduated to dunking. Chances are he doesn’t play at all this season, especially if the Pacers don’t somehow magically turn into contenders by the spring, but it’s good to see him literally up and about.
