Hip-Hop’s breakout star of 2014 Bobby Shmurda ended the year on a somber note as he and the entire GS9 crew were arrested on a slew of serious charges ranging from narcotics trafficking, weapons possession and murder. With his bail set at a hefty $2 Million, Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard is still sitting behind bars at NYC’s Rikers Island.

In recent weeks, his name has been the subject of many egregious rumors, such as he was stabbed to death in jail, which of course is false. What many do not know is that Shmurda was actually fighting a previous case just as his star was beginning to rise. He was arrested in Brooklyn in early summer 2014 for allegedly shooting into a crowd outside of a local barbershop.

When speaking with Revolt TV today, his attorney Howard Greenberg, the man who famously said the government hates rap, said that the Brooklyn District Attorney will be dismissing the prior gun charge.

“Brooklyn D.A. office announced that the gun case in Brooklyn will be dismissed in about two weeks,”

Though this is great news for Shmurda, he still not in the clear, as he still faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder and reckless endangerment from the arrest in December.
