Set in the unstable political climate of the 2009 Iranian presidential elections, “Desert Dancer” follows the story of the ambitious Afshin Ghaffarian and his love interest Elaheh (Freida Pinto). Together with the help of their friends, they form an underground dance company and learn different dances throughout the ages by watching banned online videos. They cross cultural barriers and explore the moves of Gene Kelly, Rudolf Nureyev and Michael Jackson. The film is set to hit theaters April 10, 2015 with limited release. Directed by Richard Raymond, “Desert Dancer” features Freida Pinto, Reece Ritchie, Tom Cullen and Makram J. Khoury. Check out the trailer below:
