Hip-hop veterans DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9 formed one of music’s most exciting new groups last year, when they dropped their self-tiled PRhyme album in December. Now, with a critically acclaimed album, the group will continue to build on that excitement by kicking off 2015 with a major 26-city North American tour; entitled the “PRhyme Music Tour.”

Critically acclaimed Brooklyn MC Your Old Droog and Detroit rapper and Nas protégé Boldy James will also hit the road with PRhyme as support on the tour, which will begin in Baltimore, MD on Feb. 18th and end in Austin, TX for SXSW on March 20th. The tour will include stops in major markets such as New York City, Toronto, Denver and Los Angeles, where fans can expect new material off of all three artist’s current projects as well as classics. As solo artists, DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9” have separate and well-respected legacies in hip-hop. PRhyme is the group’s first full-length record, and features some of the rap’s most-celebrated lyricists, like: Common, Jay Electronica, Killer Mike, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Mac Miller, and Slaughterhouse.

On the LP Royce da 5’9” delivers the uncompromised lyricism, which has placed him at the top of rap’s food chain. DJ Premier offers his patented booming production and classic scratched hooks. The beats were all built around samples from contemporary soul composer Adrian Younge (Jay Z and Ghostface Killah), who will also join the group for a number of tour dates.

NPR called PRhyme “a hardcore rap fan’s fantasy realized,” while HipHopDX hailed the project as a “no frills, beats and rhymes buffet.”
