What began as a mildly amusing post-game stunt is now a nationwide debate for some, and an “issue” for many. Marshawn Lynch‘s “refusal”–he makes himself available for questioning but always picks an inconclusive phrase to reply to each question with–to speak with the media is now a thing, and it has taken on a life of its own, evidenced by the fact that Stephen A. Smith, celebrity sports journalist and tenured analyst of all things controversial in the wide world of sports, deciding it to be the subject of his latest rant.

For just over 9 minutes, Smith eviscerates Marshawn Lynch for his post-game habits and the way he’s handled the media, pointing out things like as a player, Lynch isn’t just getting paid to play, he’s getting paid to help market the NFL. In addition to that, he drew comparisons to Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who has been repeatedly suspended by the NFL for his use of marijuana. Though Gordon isn’t “bothering anybody,” Smith believes that he should be punished because marijuana use is not legal in the NFL, just like Lynch’s stonewalling of the media goes against league policy. He spared no insult, calling Lynch’s behavior juvenile, disgraceful, and admitted that he’s ashamed by colleagues of his that continue to give the Skittles ambassador a pass.
